Eyes: Eyeshadow Palette Collection

Hello! Welcome back! I had a super busy summer, and I’m lazy, so we’re resuming this blog now. I thought it would be fun to actually start getting into makeup. It would make more sense to start with foundation, but I actually do my eye makeup first so that if there’s fallout, I can wipe it off and finish my foundation. I also really love eye makeup, so I’m more excited about that. Also, I have a lot more eye makeup than just these palettes, so be on the lookout for more coming up.

To start, here are all my palettes in a stack:

I have a diverse group of brands and themes, for all seasons, and all occasions. I love a good palette, but I do have a lot of thoughts about them. Lately I’ve actually been more interested in singles, since I already have a lot of colors covered by my palettes. Let’s dive in, row by row.

1st layer on top:

  • Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions- I like this palette a lot, the shadows are nice and creamy, they blend well, and I have green eyes, so the reddish pink looks good. The shimmers go on super smooth as well.

  • Tarte Glam on the Go- I also really love this palette for its creamy shadows and complimentary color scheme, it works perfectly for fall

  • Two random brands, I got these for free idk I never use them- if you want one hit me up. They’re cute and work fine but they aren’t groundbreaking by any means, and I never do three color looks anymore!

Next layer:

  • Violet Voss Rainbow Palette- there’s something compelling about an all shimmer rainbow palette with huge pans. I have tried all of these color with different looks and it definitely comes in handy, but these are best used as finishing colors, they don’t blend super well or pick upon brushes, I always have to use my finger for best color payoff.

Next layer:

  • Too Faced White Peach- I love this palette for the iconic aesthetic, but it DOES NOT show upon my skin, at all, and having black in this color story is so random, it’s a really weird add-in. However, the purple shimmer in this palette is so pretty, along with the pink and peach duo chrome (glistening peach) it’s worth keeping. Plus my grandma gave it to me for Christmas one year, so I will treasure it

  • Too Faced Pumpkin (in the metal tin!)- this palette is very controversial, not because of its creamy shadows and beautiful fall shades, but because Too Faced cheaper out on subsequent versions! I have the beautiful tin cover version, which was the standard for several years, and then suddenly they switched to a flimsy cardboard, and I believe they either removed the mirror or just used a much cheaper one. I have also hard anecdotes that the shadow formula is much lower quality. I haven’t tried the new ones for myself, but hopefully they bring it back the right way after the backlash of the last few years. Or, even better, come up with something new!

In true Too Faced fashion, both of them are also scented. White Peach is of course, peach, and the Pumpkin is like a whipped cream smell.

Next layer:

  • Oden’s Eye Saga of Freja Cat’s Breath- this palette mainly grabbed my attention bc of the dark green shade in the bottom corner. It’s a beautiful color. The brown glittery color on the same row is also a great color. It’s actually a very light brown, and the glitter comes across very delicately. I will say it can sometimes be a challenge to incorporate green, sky blue, and orange together, but it can be a versatile palette.

  • Urban Decay Pulp Fiction collab- I got this on eBay when I was in high school, just thinking it looked cool, and I’m thankful I did. It was a great starter palette, as you can see by my deep pan and remaining near pans. It works if you need something quick or on the go, and the packaging is pretty cool.

Bonus pic for the urban decay packaging:

No I will not apologize that it’s dirty af, this thing is 9 years old!

Next layer:

  • Violet Voss Eye Donut Care- I got this because I wanted a little more color in my rotation, but I’ve found that the options with this thing are pretty limited and I just find myself confused when I use it. I often try to use it as a companion to other looks.

  • Natasha Denona Glam Face Palette (really more of an eye palette that likes to have fun here)- most famously, the blush sucks ass, as most people agree, but the eye look you can make with this is very pretty and classy, and the highlight is cute too.

Next layer:

  • Persona Color Theory Palette- I got this on discount last Christmas, it came with an incredible eye shadow brush and instructions. It’s a great beginner pallet. They actually suggested the pink palette for green eyes and this orange one for blue, but I wasn’t a pink eye shadow person at the time, and I knew orange would look good. It’s great!

  • Juvia’s Place Mini Masquerade- this palette can create a lot of cool looks. I don’t use it as often as I used to, but I still consult it frequently to see if I can work it in anywhere

Next layer:

These are all Colourpop:

  • Naruto collab- people hate this palette because it’s “basic” idk where the hell blue glitter or gray shimmer are basic, but okay. It’s cute, it’s a collectible, and I like it

  • That’s Taupe- this is a great everyday palette, it’s simple, light, and easy to use. These shades blend really well, and the shimmers are creamy and easy to apply. It’s kinda weird that the shades are snake themed but the name of the palette isn’t, but whatever lol

  • All Amethyst- this thing is really good for making fairy like eye looks. The shade “Triagonal” is sooo pretty pink princess coded. I love that shade.

  • Singles- various colors (will detail these in another post)

Next layer:

Both of these come from Oden’s Eye, and are MUA collabs

  • Oden’s Eye Lauren Mae Beauty collab, Sea Talk- Sea Talk is the collab palette of one of my favorite YouTubers, Lauren Mae Beauty. She makes great content, and I love supporting her (she also has worked in the industry so she knows her stuff). When I first heard she had a palette with Oden’s Eye I literally ran!! The bright yellow shade is perfect for making things interesting, and the pink shimmer is actually a blue pink duo chrome. All around great palette

  • Oden’s Eye Battybean collab, Planet Spirit- I had actually never heard of batty bean but when I was grabbing my sea talk palette I couldn’t resist the bright pink and green and orange and purple. The white pink shade in the top left corner is a pink orange rainbowy duo chrome. I love it.

Next layer:

The twins of course, Anastasia Beverly Hills:

  • Soft Glam- I coveted this palette for years, since it release in the late 2010s, and I got it for half off during the Black Friday sale last year. I’m very proud. It has an incredible formula, buttery shimmers, and can create a lot of looks! It did come with a brush, obviously I don’t use either of them haha

  • Renaissance- Drew got this for me for our first Christmas. I had also been wanting this for a long time but $40-something was a lot back then. I treasure it to this day. The velvet exterior actually started to fall off recently, and I glued it back on!

Next layer:

  • Nyx Cosmetics Barbie Movie collab, Ken palette- unbelievable I got my hands on this!! Technically half the shades are “not safe” for the eyes but like come on… we all know what this is. Use a good shadow primer and grow up. This palette is so cute and such a perfect tie in to the movie. I love it on principle.

Next layer:

  • KKW Beauty Glitz&Glam- this was a gift from Drew’s stepmom, and I had never been interested in the Kardashian/Jenner makeup ventures, so I was pleasantly surprised by this. It is an all shimmer palette, so I use it as a companion, and it’s pretty nice. I really love the silver shade, because it’s a true icy bright silver, which is unique to me. The black with shimmer is also pretty cool.

  • Various singles (will detail these in a later post)

Two more singles I got today immediately after taking these pics!

So I’ve got a LOT of stuff, a huge variety of things. Many of them are collectibles (Kenergy!) or the packaging I got them in is special (Pumpkin palette 😡). I’ll make a post about my singles in my next post, because they are all quite unique(ish) and I use them for different things, and even build a palette for a look sometimes. I also have other singles that are not shown here bc they aren’t in a palette, they have individual packaging.

I would have done swatches but let’s all be serious, that would 1. Take me 100 years and 2. Make this post unbelievably long. If you have any specific swatch requests, let me know! Also if you see my reflection in any of the pics, no you didn’t.
